Janet Besheer is Broker/Owner of Equitas Realty, one of the first and largest woman-owned independent brokerages in the Capital Region. Based in Saratoga Springs, “Equitas, like its name, is the pinnacle of fairness and equity. A brokerage where every client and agent are treated equitably in an environment of total support and expertise.”

As a multi-million-dollar licensed Realtor® since 2000, her designations include: Accredited Member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist, Accredited Staging Professional, Certified Buyer Representative and Graduate of the Realtor® Institute. Janet holds an MBA in Finance from Adelphi University and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from SUNY Fredonia.

She pursues her passion for music by participating with Opera Saratoga and occasionally singing at public events. In addition, Janet and her company, Equitas Realty, volunteer and raise funds for local charities including the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Jake’s Help from Heaven, the American Red Cross, Shelters of Saratoga, Franklin Community Center, planting trees for Sustainable Saratoga’s “Tree-Toga” initiative and others.

In 2008 Janet was the Local Chapter President of the Capital Region Women’s Council of Realtors and in 2012 was awarded the Women’s Council Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the successful growth of her real estate brokerage.  She is a Past Director in the New York State Association of Realtors, and a former multi-year Director on both the Greater Capital Association of Realtors and Southern Adirondack Realtors MLS board.

Long Island was her childhood home followed by Manhattan and Westchester. Then six moves around the country in seven years before settling in Saratoga Springs and spearheading her real estate career: ”My personal experiences made me adept at all aspects of real estate  – buying, selling, investing, new construction and renting real property -  which I’ve put to good use as a Real Estate Broker.”
